Educational Support
See what we are able to offer schools and early years settings to support children and young people throughout their development.
Intervention Groups
Are you running intervention groups in your setting and not sure how to progress them? Or do you want some help setting them up?
This programme can support members of staff in running intervention groups in school. It includes support with understanding the theory behind interventions and why they are important, as well as measuring outcomes and designing session plans.
We can support with a variety of intervention groups, such as handwriting, touch typing skills, dressing skills, using cutlery, and many more. Just get in touch, and we can discuss what groups we can support you with. During the programme, the Occupational Therapist will attend school once a week to upskill the members of staff on how to run the session. The staff member can then use these skills in their own sessions throughout the week.
This is an 8-week programme consisting of:
Training on the underlying skills required for skill development and exploring strategies on how these can be enhanced
A meeting to discuss participants and resources available to be used in group sessions
Completing baseline assessments
Support with designing session plans

OT School Support Meeting
Universal support allows staff members to be aware of how to support all children and young people in their class. This support is easy to implement and can allow children to thrive.
OT school support meetings allow SENCos to meet with an Occupational Therapist to discuss their setting-specific needs. Learn more about the occupations we cover and how we can support you. The Occupational Therapist will then observe the setting and selected rooms to assess the environment and understand how to make it more sensory-friendly.
Afterwards, a report will be generated detailing the discussions, providing advice about the needs discussed and suggestions on how they could create a more sensory-friendly environment.

Classroom Observation
Classrooms can be overwhelming, but they should also be places for learning. However, some children struggle to access learning due to difficulties managing their sensory preferences, difficulties with motor skills, attention and concentration for extended periods.
As a class teacher, you have lots of responsibilities in the classroom and every child’s needs differ. Therefore, this package offers an Occupational Therapist to observe the classroom and have discussions about what the most prominent needs are. A report will then be completed to detail observations and provide quick wins and adaptions for children to thrive in school.
The Occupational Therapist’s day in school is dictated by you. Is there one classroom you would like to focus on? Or are there multiple classrooms that you feel require support? Let us know when enquiring and we can discuss.
